Save Lloyds Bank in Woodhouse

Sheffield Liberal Democrats are calling on Lloyds to cancel their plans to close the branch in Woodhouse

Lloyds, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland have announced the closure of over 130 branches across the UK, including two here in Sheffield.

With the shift towards online banking, high street banks are shutting down branches across the country. This forces many people to travel miles just to speak to someone in person about their finances or make essential transactions. This closure would mean local residents would have to travel into Sheffield city centre for their banking needs, but Liberal Democrats know how important this local branch is and so we're standing up to Lloyds and calling for them to cancel their planned closure of the bank.

Local Councillor Willis Marshall has said:
"Many residents are deeply concerned about the closure of Lloyds Bank in our area. At a time when people are struggling with the cost of living crisis, it’s simply unfair to expect vulnerable people to travel miles just to complete basic banking tasks. How're local residents supposed to get cash out or make vital money transfers without a local bank? That’s why we’re urging residents to sign our petition—to show Lloyds that our community needs its local branch."
